Overview
Danipa Pay offers GHS-denominated micro-loans to eligible users. Loans are disbursed straight into your wallet and repaid back from it. Open Home → Loans in the mobile app to see the products and check your eligibility.
Early access. Loans are rolling out gradually. The product list, limits, and credit grades below reflect what's currently configured in the platform; specific availability may depend on your country and account profile.
Loan products
There are three default products:
| Product | Amount | Term | Interest rate | Origination fee | Min credit grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emergency Loan | GHS 50 – GHS 500 | 30 days | 15% (flat) | 2% | C |
| Growth Loan | GHS 500 – GHS 5,000 | 90 days | 10% (flat) | 1.5% | B |
| Premium Loan | GHS 5,000 – GHS 20,000 | 180 days | 5% (flat) | 1% | A |
Interest is a flat rate on the principal — total repayment = principal + interest + origination fee.
Credit grade
Danipa Pay assigns each user a credit grade (A, B, C, D) based on your account history. Your grade determines which products you qualify for.
| Grade | Meaning |
|---|---|
| A | Strongest profile — qualifies for every product |
| B | Good profile — qualifies for Emergency and Growth loans |
| C | Fair profile — qualifies for Emergency loans |
| D | Building — not yet eligible; keep using your wallet to build history |
Open Home → Loans → My credit to see your current grade.
What raises your grade
- Repaying loans on time (largest impact).
- Consistent wallet activity over months.
- A long account history.
- Full KYC verification (KYC Verification).
- Step-up MFA enrolled (Security & Account Settings).
What lowers your grade
- Late or missed loan repayments.
- Long stretches of inactivity.
- Repeated rejected applications.
Apply for a loan
- Open Home → Loans.
- Pick a product. If a product is greyed out, your current grade doesn't yet qualify — the screen explains what's needed.
- Enter the amount and pick the term.
- Review the schedule — total repayment, instalment amounts, and due dates are shown before you commit.
- Read the loan agreement and tap Accept and apply.
- Authorise with your transaction PIN and step-up MFA if required.
If approved, the loan is DISBURSED to your wallet. The application moves through these statuses:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| APPLIED | You submitted the application; under review |
| APPROVED | Approved — disbursement next |
| REJECTED | Not approved — see the explanation in the loan detail |
| DISBURSED | Funds in your wallet; repayments active |
| REPAID | All repayments completed |
Repay your loan
The schedule is fixed when the loan is disbursed. You can see every instalment under the loan's detail screen.
Automatic repayment
On each instalment due date, Danipa Pay debits your wallet for the instalment amount. Make sure your wallet has enough before the date.
Manual or early repayment
Open the loan and tap Make payment to pay any amount above the next instalment, or Pay off loan to clear the entire remaining balance. There's no early-repayment penalty — paying early reduces the total interest you owe.
Reminders
You'll get notifications before and after each instalment date through whichever channels you have enabled in the PAYMENT category — see Notifications & Alerts.
Late payments
Missed payments accrue a penalty rate, set per product (e.g. 5% per annum on the overdue balance for Emergency Loans). Continued non-payment affects your credit grade and your future eligibility.
If you're going to struggle to pay, contact support before the due date through Profile → Help & Support. Restructuring options may be available.
Loan history
Open Home → Loans → My loans for a list of every loan, current and past, with the status and a link to the schedule.
FAQ
Can I have more than one loan at a time?
You can have one active loan per product type — for example, an Emergency Loan and a Growth Loan running at the same time, but not two Emergency Loans.
Does checking my eligibility affect my credit?
No. Only completed applications are recorded against your account.
Can my limit go up?
Yes. Repaying on time and using your wallet consistently improves your credit grade, which unlocks higher-value products.
What if I don't have a credit grade yet?
You need a minimum amount of account history before a grade is calculated. Use your wallet — fund it, send, receive, and the grade follows.
