Overview
Danipa Pay produces two kinds of records:
- Transaction receipts — a PDF for every completed transfer, fund-in, cash-out, and bill payment.
- Account statements — per-currency PDFs or CSVs covering a date range you choose.
Both are generated on demand; nothing is emailed unless you save and forward it yourself.
Transaction receipts
Every completed transaction has a downloadable receipt with the canonical record of the transaction.
A receipt includes:
- The Danipa logo and your account name.
- The unique transaction reference.
- Date and time the transaction settled.
- Amount, fee, and net amount.
- Sender and recipient details.
- Exchange rate (for cross-currency transfers).
- Final status.
Download a receipt
- Open the Activity tab.
- Tap a completed transaction.
- Tap Download receipt.
The PDF is saved to your device. Use your phone's share menu to send it to WhatsApp, email, or any other app.
Receipt verification
Each receipt carries a verification code. If a recipient or auditor wants to confirm the receipt is genuine, present the code to Danipa Support — they can confirm it against the transaction record. (Self-service QR-code verification is on the roadmap; today this is a Support-assisted check.)
Account statements
Statements are generated per currency and per date range. They're useful for tax filings, business accounting, and proving income or activity for visas and loans.
Generate a statement
- Open the Wallet tab.
- Tap Statements.
- Pick the currency (GHS, CAD, USD, or another currency you have an account in).
- Pick the date range with the start and end date pickers.
- Pick the format:
- PDF — formatted document with header, transaction list, and summary.
- CSV — raw rows for spreadsheets and accounting software.
- Tap Generate.
The statement is queued; once it's ready you'll see it in the Past statements list with a Download button.
What's in a statement
Each statement covers exactly one currency. It contains:
- Header — account name, statement period, opening balance, closing balance.
- Transaction list — date, reference, description, debit, credit, fee, running balance.
- Summary — total debits, total credits, total fees, transaction count.
If you transact in multiple currencies, generate one statement per currency.
What about merchant tax reports?
Merchant accounts get their own reporting surface in the merchant dashboard's Billing and Transactions pages — see Merchant Dashboard. The statements feature in the mobile app is for personal-account use.
Storage
| Item | Where it lives |
|---|---|
| Past transactions | In your activity history indefinitely |
| Generated statements | In your Past statements list — re-download any time |
| Downloaded files | On your device until you delete them |
For long-term record-keeping, save important statements to cloud storage or your accountant's drive.
FAQ
Can I get a receipt for a failed transaction?
A failed transaction stays in your activity with a Failed status. You can open it to see the failure reason; a formal receipt is only generated for completed transactions.
Can I get a certified statement?
For statements that need to be stamped or certified for legal use (visa applications, court matters, etc.), open a support request via Profile → Help & Support. The team can issue a certified version on request.
Why does my statement balance differ from my wallet?
The statement shows the closing balance for the period you selected. Your wallet shows your current real-time balance — they will differ whenever there's been activity since the statement period ended.
Are statements available in other languages?
Statements are English-only today. The mobile app's UI may be available in other languages, but the statement document itself is generated in English.
